DC recently announced that they would be bringing Supergirl to the small screen to star in her own TV series. More recently, the show landed a series commitment with CBS (the only network station that doesn't have a comic book TV show).
This Supergirl series has no working title, but is described as an hour-long drama, which will focus on Kara following her escape from planet Krypton amid its destruction. Apparently, she's been hiding her powers but decides to "embrace her superhuman abilities and be the hero she was always meant to be."
More importantly than having a title, they have no actress attached to the series. We've decided to break down the actresses we think could fill those red boots, are worthy of the iconic blue skirt, and are fit to wear the iconic "S" shield.

Aly Michalka
She's been acting since she was a kid but never really broke into mainstream awareness with a major film or primetime TV show. With that comic book look and her age, she could make a perfect franchise-ready Supergirl.
Amber Heard
Somehow she still hasn't been cast as a superhero for either Marvel or DC. The stunning Amber Heard would make a great Supergirl.
Hayden Panettiere
If they want a just-out-of-high-school, blonde, young heroine, then why not cast "Heroes" blonde high school heroine? She's got the talent, the fanbase, the look, and she's looked the same super young age for like six years now, which is great for a franchise.
Kirby Bliss Blanton
A stunning platinum blonde with Project X fan following, she's not attached to any franchise and could carry a show like this with ease.
Laura Vandervoort
If fricken Superman himself can return to DC TV continuity as The Atom, then Supergirl can return as Supergirl without dealing with continuity issues. Cast the girl who's perfect to play Kara because she already has. Plus, it's a great nod to "Smallville" fans.
Rosie Huntington-Whiteley
If anyone looks like the comic interpretation of Supergirl, it's Rose Huntington-Whitely. Those features, her thin but muscular frame, and coloring are perfect for Supergirl.
Sarah Wright
Look at that girl and tell us that isn't Kara/Supergirl! She's got the perfect look and bubbley personality, and she's been acting for 10 years and is still the right age for an early college Supergirl.
Yvonne Strahovski
She was born to play Supergirl (or Black Canary, but who knows if that will ever happen). She's gorgeous, athletic, and an extremely talented actress that could carry a series.
Ashley Hinshaw
She just wrapped up a great run on "True Blood," and she was Power Girl in The Death and Return of Superman, so she's got the geek cred, the look, and the youth... cast her!
Laura Haddock
A great young actress with an awesome comic book look. We're not sure how she looks blonde... yet, but we're sure she could pull it off.
