Anyone who's ever tried to go up on stage knows that stand-up comedians don't have an easy job. You have to be witty, charming and most importantly funny. However there are some comics who are not any of those things, causing them to be hated by the masses. Whether it's because they're known for stealing material, they're hacks or they're just plain annoying, these comics are notorious for not being liked both in the comedy community and by the general public.

Carlos Mencia
Ever since Joe Rogan exposed Carlos as a joke thief, he's become public enemy #1 in the comedy universe. When you've been caught stealing material and exposed as a "phony Mexican," you know you've got a long road ahead of you if you want to turn people around. Oh, and did I mention his real name is Ned?
Dane Cook
I'd like to preface this one by saying that older Dane Cook material is actually quite funny. Dane's 2006 "Retaliation" comedy album went platinum, making it the best-selling comedy record of the last 30 years. HOWEVER, those accomplishments don't prevent him from being hated by almost everyone in the world. Maybe it's his annoying delivery of sophomoric material, or maybe guys just hate how much their girlfriends were into Dane at one point. Better yet, it might be because Dane was accused of lifting some of Louis CK's material, a subject that Louis turned into an episode of his hit show.
Dat Phan
Dat Phan is the original winner of NBC's "Last Comic Standing," which is ironic because he's one of the hackiest comics on the planet. Dennis Miller
Dennis Miller is an OG; he's been getting hated on since the 90s. People lamented ABC's decision to add Miller to Monday Night Football in 2000, where his stale jokes fell short almost every time.
Gilbert Gottfried
Gilbert Gottfried caught a lot of flack during the last 5 years for his unabashed tweets, particularly one about the Tsunami that devastated Japan in 2011. People also hate Gilbert for his annoying voice, but guess what? It's not even his real voice.
Jay Mohr
One thing you may not know about Jay is that he's one of the most talented impressionists in the world...if you've never heard his Colin Quinn, please do yourself a favor and look it up. That being said, Jay is constantly catching heat for jokes he makes, particularly jokes about women. Are people too sensitive or is Jay a douche? We'll let you make that decision.
Jeff Dunham
Let's face it, Jeff Dunham is one of the highest paid comics in the world. The man sells out huge shows on a weekly basis, but that doesn't make him impervious to being hated on. Many fellow comedians view Dunham as a ventriloquist and not a comic, and for good reason. After all, how hard would this guy crush without his puppets? My guess is not very.
Kathy Griffin
Although she is a very successful comic, people can't help but find Kathy Griffin annoying. It could be her voice, it could be her style of delivery, but whatever it is it's enough to get her on this list.
Larry the Cable Guy
If you've never heard Larry's catchphrase "Git er dun!" then you don't know what it means to cringe as hard as humanly possible. What's worse is that Larry the Cable Guy's whole "Redneck" appeal is a complete sham, as evidenced by the video above. Sorry, Alabama, your idol is a fraud.
Michael Richards
Do we really need to explain why Michael Richards is on this list? Two words: Laugh Factory. Michael's 2006 set at Hollywood's most famous comedy club will go down as one of the worst sets in comedy history. After bombing for a few minutes and being heckled, Richards starting calling black people in the crowd a word that you shouldn't call black people...just watch the video and see for yourself.
